Project Description:
- The Extension Of (8) Hospitals involves 6 major elements which are as follows:
- Increase Inpatient bed capacity to almost double the current capacity to a total of 507 inpatient beds.
- Additional Administrative areas for Human Resources Department, Anesthesia Department and Medical Administration.
- A new Physical Therapy Department, to support the additional 240 beds being proposed along with a General Radiology Satellite Unit.
- The area where Operating Theaters are currently located within the existing hospital is to be re-planned and re-furnished to add 4 new operating theaters.
- An air- conditioned grade-level walk way connecting the new building with the existing hospital.The Ministry of Health has initiated a national Healthcare Expansion Plan which envisages the upgrading and extension of existing medical facilities as well as the development of new general and specialist hospitals through an ambitious program to build 8 or more new hospitals, in addition to the existing medical facilities throughout the state of Kuwait. It is the vision of Ministry of Health to provide these facilities meeting the international standards and with the latest technologies available. It is also their desire to complete these projects as fast as possible; therefore, the decision was made to tender the following projects on a Design-Build-Equip-Furnish & Operational Maintenance method.
